Are you a skilled Tax Accountant with a strong background in the hospitality sector? We are looking for an experienced interim Tax Accountant to lead a Tax Efficiency and Compliance

Optimisation Project for a private equity-backed hospitality client. This is a 6-month contract role,

paying up to £500 per day, outside IR35, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes two days per week in their London office.

Key Responsibilities:

· Tax Efficiency Review: Conduct a comprehensive review of existing tax structures, transactions, and filings to identify potential tax savings and ensure effective tax management.

· Compliance Optimisation: Ensure full compliance with domestic and international tax regulations, implementing process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

· Hospitality-Specific Tax Planning: Leverage your knowledge of the hospitality industry to identify tax-saving opportunities and optimize VAT, business rates, and other sector-specific tax treatments.

· Tax Credit and Incentive Maximisation: Identify and document eligible activities for tax credits, grants, and incentives, such as capital allowances, to optimize the company’s tax position.

· Process Streamlining and Automation: Improve tax reporting processes, implementing standardized templates and exploring automation opportunities to reduce manual errors and enhance speed and accuracy.

· Risk Management: Develop a tax risk management plan to minimize exposure to tax audits and potential penalties, implementing procedures for documentation and tax reserve management.

· Stakeholder Collaboration and Education: Work closely with finance and operational teams to ensure tax implications are understood and documented for key transactions and business decisions.

· Legislative Monitoring and Compliance: Stay updated on tax law changes, particularly those affecting the hospitality sector, and proactively implement changes to maintain compliance.

Requirements:

· Sector Experience: Significant tax experience within the hospitality sector is essential.

· Tax Qualification Preferred: Professional tax qualification (CTA, ATT, ACA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

· Technical Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK corporate tax, VAT, and hospitality-specific tax considerations (e.g., business rates, capital allowances for renovations).

· Project-Based Experience: Proven track record of working on tax efficiency or compliance projects, with the ability to independently lead and implement tax strategies.

· Analytical and Strategic Mindset: Ability to analyse complex tax data and deliver actionable recommendations that improve tax efficiency and compliance.

· Hybrid Working Flexibility: Willingness to work from the London office twice a week.
