About the Company: Finatal is collaborating with a leading private equity-backed education business that is undergoing a period of transformation. As part of our efforts to professionalise and optimise the finance function, we are seeking an experienced Interim Tax and Treasury Professional to manage our tax strategy and treasury operations during this critical phase. 

Role Overview: As the Interim Tax and Treasury Professional, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s tax compliance and treasury management, ensuring that both functions align with the business’s strategic objectives. You will play a crucial role in managing tax risks, optimizing cash flow, and supporting the business as it prepares for a potential exit. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and oversee all tax compliance activities, ensuring timely and accurate submission of corporate tax returns and adherence to tax regulations. 
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position and manage tax risks, including reputational risks. 
  • Provide technical tax advice to the finance team and senior management, particularly in relation to the company’s global operations. 
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and treasury management, ensuring the company maintains optimal liquidity and financial stability. 
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisers, auditors, and banks, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery. 
  • Support the preparation of the business for exit, including due diligence on tax matters and optimizing the company’s cash and banking arrangements. 
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure the seamless integration of tax and treasury functions into the broader finance strategy. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant or tax or treasury professional. 
  • Proven experience in tax and treasury management, ideally within a private equity-backed environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international tax regulations and best practices. 
  • Experience in cash flow management, treasury operations, and financial risk management. 
  • Experience in preparing businesses for exit, particularly in relation to tax and treasury considerations, is highly desirable.
