Role Overview:
The Technical Financial Controller will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial reporting, ensuring robust financial controls, and providing technical accounting expertise. You will play a crucial role in aligning financial operations with the company’s strategic objectives, particularly in the context of a private equity-backed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and meeting the reporting requirements of the private equity backers.
- Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, contract accounting, and deferred income, tailored to the professional services sector.
- Implement and maintain strong financial controls across the organization to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, providing critical insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements, including managing audits and liaising with external auditors.
- Identify and drive procss improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.
Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
- Significant experience in a financial controller or similar role within a private equity-backed professional services SME.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and experience managing complex accounting issues in the professional services industry.
- Proven track record in implementing and maintaining robust financial controls in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in presenting financial information to senior management and private equity stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.
