The Opportunity:

Finatal are partnered with a fantastic, high growth private equity fund which focuses on buyout investments in the mid/lower-mid market. They have a fantastic AUM:headcount ratio, and plenty of dry powder. They are anticipating a very busy few years, and are looking to add an Associate to the team to support end-to-end on new deals, portfolio management and sourcing. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a high calibre but down-to-earth team within an established but growing platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Origination: assisting with industry research, market analysis and proactively identifying potential opportunities; conducting preliminary diligence.
  • Execution: assisting with a view to eventually leading on all diligence streams; building financial models; analysing various materials to develop and consolidate investment theses; building and maintaining relationships with incumbent management teams; conducting meetings with various advisors; compiling IC materials.
  • Portfolio management: monitoring performance of existing portfolio businesses; engaging with management teams and contributing to strategic planning; supporting and implementing value creation initiatives (organic and inorganic growth).
  • Working closely with senior members of the team across the full spectrum of deal-related activities.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years experience in top-tier investment bank, or within M&A at big four/equivalent. Some time in strategy/CDD a bonus but not essential.
  • An exceptional academic track record from top-ranked institution.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Ambitious, adaptable mindset.
  • An additional European language is a plus. (Please note that the fund likely cannot sponsor visas for this opportunity).
