Finatal is currently mandated on an M&A Executive role for a TMT company in West Germany. The candidate must have come from 4 – 8 years at an Investment Bank in the TMT sector and have had professional experience in M&A / Corporate Finance / Private Equity or Venture Capital. This position has a fantastic progression structure, and the candidate will have exposure to several deals a year.   

It will require being in office 3 days per week and are offering a relocation package for those unable to commute. 


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the execution of their group-wide M&A and investment strategy, including providing recommendations for its inorganic implementation.
  • Lead M&A transactions from deal inception to closing, including post-merger integration (PMI), by managing key steps such as Due Diligence, financial modelling and analysis, risk assessment, and integration planning.
  • Screen potential deals and build the group’s M&A pipeline by evaluating projects for strategic alignment and commercial value.
  • Monitor the portfolios and M&A activities of competitors to ensure the firm maintains a competitive edge.
  • Analyse and critically assess M&A business cases, including synergy assumptions and PMI plans, prepared by other segments within the group.
  • Provide decision-focused briefings to their senior management to support informed decision-making on strategic transactions.

Qualifications:

  • 3-8 years in Investment Banking in the TMT sector.
  • M&A, Corporate Finance or Private Equity / Venture Capital experience.
  • Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • International experience and inter-cultural competence.
  • Business fluent English, and fluent German (or demonstrable willingness to learn).
  • Hands-on experience in project organisation and management
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced and highly acquisitive firm.
  • Previous experience working with senior stakeholders and confidence in presenting.
  • Approaches their work pragmatically and has commendable inter-personal skills.
