We are partnering with a PE-backed services platform executing an aggressive buy-and-build strategy across the UK. Having completed 30+ acquisitions in the past 3 years, the business is now entering its next phase of growth, which may involve expanding internationally. As a result, they are growing their high-performing in-house M&A function with the addition of an M&A Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of acquisitions, from target identification through to completion and handover to integration teams
  • Proactively originate and evaluate lower mid-market opportunities (typically £5m–£50m EV)
  • Build and manage relationships with founders, management teams, and advisers across fragmented services markets
  • Take ownership of financial modelling, valuation, and due diligence processes, coordinating internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Support post-merger integration planning, ensuring smooth transition and alignment within the first 100 days
  • Contribute to the evolution of origination strategy, pipeline management, and deal governance frameworks
  • Partner cross-functionally and engage regularly with senior leadership and board-level stakeholders

Candidate Profile

  • 5–8 years’ M&A experience within corporate development, private equity, banking, or advisory
  • Proven track record delivering lower mid-market transactions end-to-end
  • Experience in business services is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities, combined with commercial judgement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with entrepreneurs and non-financial stakeholders
  • High-energy, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
