A rapidly expanding private equity-backed professional services business is actively seeking an M&A Manager to join their M&A team.
This is a full-cycle position, supporting the Head of M&A in managing deals from inception to completion. The M&A Manager will primarily focus on ‘tuck-in’ acquisitions, involving close collaboration with various stakeholders. This includes establishing acquisition criteria with partners, cultivating relationships with vendors through organic methods and broker introductions to identify targets, and engaging with internal stakeholders.
Once viable targets are identified, you will work closely with the FDD Manager to oversee their findings and contribute to the comprehensive due diligence report, covering aspects like technology, commercial viability, and operational readiness. If suitable, you will support targets through pricing, valuation, and negotiation phases, while also project managing the deal through to completion.
This role is ideal for someone with prior in-house M&A experience, looking to step up and manage deals through their entire lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle M&A activities, including origination, due diligence oversight, deal structuring, negotiation, execution, and integration planning.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, legal advisors, financial institutions, and external consultants, ensuring deadlines and KPIs are met.
- Contribute to origination efforts by analyzing competitive landscapes and identifying strategic growth opportunities.
- Oversee financial modeling and valuation exercises to assess the financial impact of M&A transactions.
- Lead strategic planning and coordinate post-merger integration activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop integration plans.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA/CA qualified with experience in transaction services or lead advisory within an accountancy firm, or similar deals background.
- In-house M&A experience preferred (professional services deal experience advantageous).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
