The CFO will be responsible for building a best-in-class finance function capable of supporting rapid growth and international expansion. Initially focused on strengthening core finance capabilities, the role will evolve into a strategic leadership position overseeing M&A, integration, and exit readiness.

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the private equity sponsor, the CFO will act as a strategic partner to the board while maintaining rigorous financial control.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Infrastructure & Controls

  • Establish best-in-class financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Implement robust financial controls and governance frameworks aligned with private equity standards
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting to board and investors

Private Equity Partnership & Value Creation

  • Partner closely with the CEO and sponsor to deliver the value creation plan
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives
  • Prepare the business for exit readiness

M&A & Integration

  • Lead financial due diligence, deal structuring, and transaction execution
  • Support acquisition financing discussions with banks and debt providers
  • Oversee post-deal integration to ensure value capture and operational alignment

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with lenders, auditors, and advisors
  • Operate effectively within a high-performance professional services environment

The Right Candidate

Experience & Background

  • Proven CFO within a private equity-backed environment
  • Demonstrated success in buy-and-build strategies, including due diligence, deal execution, and post-merger integration
  • Experience within professional services or people-based businesses
  • Track record of preparing businesses for exit

Technical Expertise

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and deal structuring capabilities
  • Deep understanding of PE reporting standards and governance
  • Experience implementing ERP and business intelligence systems
  • Strong debt and covenant management experience

Leadership & Personal Attributes

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Commercially astute, strategic thinker with operational discipline
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
