Our partner, a private equity-backed B2B SaaS organisation, is looking for a VP of Engineering who, whilst working with the CTO, can help to modernise and scale the Engineering team.

Backed by leading investors and with a strong product-market fit, they’re entering the next phase of scale, expanding their platform, growing their customer base, and enhancing their technology capabilities.

The Role:

As VP of Engineering, you will own the engineering function across the business, overseeing product development, platform scalability, and technical operations. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to deliver a world-class SaaS platform that meets the needs of their global customer base.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and understands how to build and scale a modern engineering organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team, with plans to grow.
  • Set and drive the technology strategy in alignment with company goals and product roadmap.
  • Own architectural decisions, tech stack evolution, and platform performance.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Commercial leaders to deliver value quickly and efficiently.
  • Drive hiring, coaching, and development across the engineering team.
  • Ensure technical due diligence, security, scalability, and best-in-class engineering practices.
  • Act as a key partner to the CEO and investors on technology-related matters.

About You:

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in a B2B SaaS business (ideally PE-backed)
  • Strong track record of scaling engineering functions in growth-stage environments.
  • Deep understanding of modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS), and agile practices.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to zoom in and out—balancing high-level planning with hands-on execution.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience partnering cross-functionally and with executive stakeholders.
  • Passion for building great products, empowering teams, and solving complex challenges.
