The Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Operational Finance in an iconic private equity-backed B2B / B2C business. The role is 6-12 months, based in Central London and in response to a recent luxurious office move that aligns with a motivation to upskill and enhance the staff and processes in the transactional (AP / cash) department.

This environment is one in which dynamism and an ability to adapt to change will be key – they have recently appointed a new CFO, expanded abroad and are mid-acquisition integration. A hands-on approach, top-level man management and deep diving into the nitty-gritty will be an absolute essential here. The business currently has limited processes and KPIs / metrics in place, so demonstrating prior successful implementation of these will also be key.

The Role:

  • Continuous improvement of processes – Lead the business in process improvement, operationalising feedback from customers, drivers and internal sources to ensure that a culture of continuous improvement delivers positive results
  • KPI’s / Metrics – Implementation of key metrics to assess performance and accountability
  • Invoice to Cash (I2C) Process Owner - Full end-to-end ownership of all invoicing and collections processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and very low DSO. Continuous improvement from the feedback of customers and drivers
  • Procure to Pay (P2P) Process Owner - Full end-to-end ownership of all purchasing processes, CAPEX and OPEX, working closely with Ops and Procurement
  • Operational Working Capital Management - Map working capital cycle and ensure situation is maximised, both long term and short term
  • Transformations, growth and programme change – Lead own teams and positively support other functions and stakeholders through the necessary strategic and organisational change that will contribute to the achievement of common goals and the overall success of the business

The Requirements:

  • Degree plus financial qualification (e.g. ACA/FCA, ACCA/FCCA, or ACMA/FCMA), but relevant experience is also important
  • Experience in invoicing, debt collection, revenue protection, accounts payable and cash & bank – this will be rooted from experience in fast-paced industries, preferably across both Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) channel relationships
  • Oversight and significant involvement in the production of monthly management information, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and balanced scorecards
  • Familiarity with integrated process solutions and continuous improvement methodology
  • Experienced people manager, having closely managed multiple teams across multiple sites
  • Experience of implementing change in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive experience of working across divisions, to drive process improvement across an entire business
  • Experience of EMEA or Global services and process change initiatives is an advantage
  • Experience of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), especially post-acquisition integration, would be an advantage
