We are partnering with a private equity-backed multi-site hospitality group to appoint an Interim Group Financial Controller during a key period of growth and operational enhancement.
The business operates a diverse portfolio of sites across the UK and is backed by an established private equity investor focused on driving continued expansion, operational excellence, and value creation.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a highly visible leadership role responsible for strengthening financial controls, improving reporting accuracy, and providing robust financial insight to support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the finance function can support the demands of a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Group Finance function and overseeing all financial control activities across multiple sites and legal entities.
- Managing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Owning consolidated group reporting and delivering high-quality management information to senior leadership and investors.
- Preparing board packs, lender reporting, and private equity investor reporting.
- Enhancing financial controls, governance frameworks, and compliance processes across the business.
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
- Driving finance process improvements and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve site performance and profitability.
- Managing external audits and relationships with auditors, advisers, and lenders.
- Supporting acquisitions, site openings, integrations, refinancing projects, and other strategic initiatives as required.
- Leading and developing the finance team whilst embedding best-practice processes across the organisation.
About You
We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
- Proven experience operating at Group Financial Controller level within a complex, multi-site environment.
- Previous experience within hospitality, leisure, retail, consumer, or other operationally intensive businesses.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience of group consolidations and statutory reporting.
- Experience working within a private equity-backed business.
- A track record of improving controls, reporting processes, and finance governance.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.
- Commercially minded with the ability to balance operational delivery and strategic support.
- Experience supporting growth, transformation, acquisitions, or refinancing activities is highly desirable.
