This highly acquisitive business have a roll up strategy, acquiring global software businesses with strong market share in niche verticals. They then work closely with the acquired companies to scale them organically and profitably.

The role

Finatal is seeking a Vice President of Finance to work closely with the Head of UK, spearheading the companies financial strategy and propelling their growth trajectory. As an integral part of the UK Leadership Team, you will significantly influence the financial direction of European operations, contributing to their ongoing success in a dynamic and competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with the company’s overall goals.
  • Provide financial insights and guidance to facilitate informed business decisions with operating leaders.
  • Coordinate with HQ on various growth strategies, including tax optimisation and operational finance.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and offer timely insights to executive leadership.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify areas for operational improvement or risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Mitigate financial risks through proactive assessment and strategic initiatives.
  • Enhance internal controls and risk management frameworks to protect company assets.
  • Provide financial expertise throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Support European M&A activities, including structuring, valuation, and financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful post-acquisition integration and financial monitoring.
  • Lead and mentor the international finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Key requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Over 15 years of experience managing finance teams, with global team management experience being a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably in the software industry, private equity-backed entities, or technology sector within acquisitive companies.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial principles, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a history of building and developing high-performing teams.
