A lower middle-market private equity firm is seeking a VP / Principal to join its Investment Team in Tampa.

The firm partners with founder- and family-owned businesses, providing minority and majority equity investments to support long-term growth, operational improvement, and value creation. With capital from institutional investors and a collaborative investment model, the firm works closely with management teams to scale businesses and deliver strong outcomes across its portfolio.

This is a senior investment role offering exposure across the full investment lifecycle, including deal sourcing, transaction execution, capital structuring, portfolio management, and exit preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and execute new investment opportunities, including building financial models and conducting valuation analysis

• Lead and coordinate due diligence processes across financial, operational, legal, and commercial workstreams

• Prepare investment memoranda and present opportunities to the Investment Committee

• Develop and maintain relationships with intermediaries, lenders, advisors, and company management teams

• Support negotiation of key transaction documentation including LOIs, purchase agreements, and financing arrangements

• Manage external advisors and third-party diligence providers throughout transaction processes

• Monitor portfolio company performance and analyse key financial and operational metrics

• Work alongside operating partners and management teams to implement value creation initiatives

• Support strategic projects including add-on acquisitions, growth initiatives, and exit preparation

• Mentor junior members of the investment team and contribute to broader team development

Candidate Profile:

• 6–10 years’ experience in private equity, investment banking, or transaction advisory

• Demonstrated experience executing buy-side M&A transactions

• Experience within the industrial or manufacturing sectors required

• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities

• Deep understanding of accounting, finance, and capital structures

• Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, investors, and advisors

• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple transaction workstreams

• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
