PE-Backed CFO – Transportation & Logistics
Finatal has been exclusively retained by a private investment firm to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a newly acquired, PE-backed transportation & logistics company.
This is a ground-floor CFO opportunity. The business has a clearly defined value creation plan centered on operational improvement, organic growth, and selective M&A.
You will partner directly with the CEO and sponsor to build the business from day one, initially leveraging a small existing accounting team while designing the financial, operational, and reporting infrastructure required to support the company’s next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the finance leader and core partner to the CEO
- Build the finance team and broader financial infrastructure
- Lead systems implementation and process improvements across finance and reporting
- Drive cash flow management, forecasting, and financial planning
- Build PE-grade reporting, forecasting, and board materials
- Support M&A execution and integration activities
- Scale the finance organization over time as the business grows
Requirements
- Proven experience in PE-backed businesses required; open to sitting CFOs or strong #2s ready to step into the CFO seat
- Background in transportation, logistics, supply chain, distribution, or other commercial / industrial businesses
- Strong cash flow management, forecasting, and operational finance experience
- Demonstrated success implementing financial systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure
- Exposure to M&A, quality of earnings processes, integration, or broader transaction activity preferred
- Hands-on leader willing to roll up their sleeves and build alongside the business
- Growth-oriented mindset with a desire to operate in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
- On-site role based in Central Florida (5 days / week on-site; not open to commuters)
