PE-Backed CFO | Tech-Enabled Marketplace | Remote
Finatal has been exclusively retained by a private equity-backed growth platform to appoint its first Chief Financial Officer.
This is a unique opportunity to join a PE-backed, tech-enabled marketplace business at an inflection point in its growth journey. Operating nationally with a highly scalable, asset-light business model, the company has established a strong market position and is now focused on accelerating growth, professionalizing infrastructure, and creating value through both organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions.
The CFO will partner closely with the CEO and investor group as a key member of the leadership team. As the first finance leader in the business, you will build the finance function from the ground up, establish best-in-class reporting and forecasting processes, and help shape the company’s long-term growth strategy.
This role is ideal for a hands-on CFO or strong finance leader seeking a step-up opportunity within a private equity-backed environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic finance partner to the CEO and private equity sponsor
- Build and professionalize the finance function, processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure
- Own budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and KPI reporting
- Lead board reporting and support lender and investor communications
- Evaluate and optimize existing accounting and finance resources
- Support strategic growth initiatives, including pricing, profitability analysis, and operational decision-making
- Assess and execute M&A opportunities, including diligence and integration activities
- Build and scale the finance organization as the business grows
Requirements
- Previous experience within a private equity-backed company
- Existing CFO experience or a proven #2 finance leader ready for a first CFO role
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities
- Experience building processes and systems within a growing business
- Exposure to board reporting, lender relationships, and PE stakeholders
- Background in technology-enabled services, marketplaces, distribution, or education services
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on finance leader in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
