Finatal is partnering with a leading private equity fund to appoint a new CFO to one of its portfolio companies, a digital engineering and tech-enabled services business serving large, blue chip customers.
The portfolio company has undergone significant commercial transformation as it continues to embed AI across its operating model and delivery capabilities. Backed by a well-capitalized PE investor, the business is entering its next phase of growth, with a mandate to evolve its commercial model, drive operational change, evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities, and effectively prepare for exit.
Key Responsibilities
- Own FP&A, forecasting, and decision support in a data-rich, technology-enabled environment; enhance planning processes and improve visibility into business performance.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and PE sponsor on value creation initiatives, capital allocation, and scenario planning.
- Lead the financial strategy underpinning the Company’s AI transformation agenda and long-term growth plans.
- Drive the evolution of commercial and pricing models as the business continues to adopt AI-enabled delivery.
- Lead lender relations, covenant management, liquidity planning, and all financial diligence associated with ongoing operations and future exit readiness.
- Partner closely with operating leaders to improve visibility into utilization, project performance, delivery margins, and overall operating efficiency.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance function fit for scale, with particular emphasis on FP&A, business partnering, and decision-support capabilities.
- Drive improvements across systems, reporting, controls, and automation to support a growing global organization.
- Support M&A activity, including diligence, integration planning, and value creation tracking.
- Prepare the Company for a PE exit, ensuring transaction readiness across financials, operations, and systems.
Qualifications
- Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a PE-backed environment, ideally with direct involvement in a successful exit process.
- Deep expertise in technology-enabled business models, ideally within digital transformation, engineering services, software development, or related services environments.
- Direct experience leading or supporting AI-enabled operating model changes, with a strong understanding of their impact on delivery, pricing, margins, and business performance.
- Strong command of data-driven FP&A; comfortable operating in environments with complex revenue models and high analytical intensity.
- Demonstrated ability to build finance organizations and planning capabilities in fast-scaling businesses.
- Strong understanding of project economics, utilization, delivery margins, and revenue recognition within people-based services businesses.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, integration efforts, and broader value creation initiatives.
- Confident executive presence; able to represent the business credibly to investors, lenders, and the Board.
- Lender management experience, including covenant compliance, borrowings, and banking relationships.
- Appetite to operate in a high-ownership, fast-moving environment with evolving infrastructure and real commercial complexity.
