Backed by a leading mid-market PE house with an excellent track record in delivering meaningful growth and value creation via strategic buy & builds, this London based business services company requires an experienced M&A Director to lead on all aspect of in-organic growth.

Acting as sole contributor to international M&A (with the assistance of the PE sponsor and internal finance function as required), the M&A Director will

  • Lead on the completion of 2-3 value creative acquisitions annually.
  • Help to drive origination efforts with the assistance of the PE sponsor.
  • Act as point of contact, and face off with all advisors, lawyers, and external stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with the founders and executive teams of potential targets which fit the M&A strategy to increase market share and add capabilities and service lines.
  • Manage all DD workstreams.
  • Lead on commercial due diligence and the assessment of commercial / strategic fit.
  • Lead on all negotiations.
  • Structure deals.
  • Value and price targets / deals.
  • Lead on all forecasting, business planning, integration planning, and M&A reporting to the Board.
  • Work with the internal integration function to ensure full integration of targets.
  • Work with the CFO on a range of commercial and value creative projects.

The successful candidate will

  • Have prior corporate development or mid-market investing experience.
  • Be experienced in souring and executing deals in the £20m to £200m EV range.
  • Ideally have prior international experience.
  • Have the personality and gravitas to build relationships at all levels.
  • Be capable of running all aspects of M&A with little internal resource.
  • Have prior experience of the professional or business services sector.
