I’m partnering with a leading UK energy infrastructure business to find their first ever Change Lead.
Recently taken private by a global infrastructure investor, the business is scaling fast: integrating acquisitions, building out new tech infrastructure, and professionalising its operating model as it transitions into a fully integrated energy infrastructure platform powering the UK’s net zero ambition.
This is a genuine build role. No established function. No fixed methodology. No inherited team. You’ll create the change framework from scratch and own its delivery.
What you’ll do
- Define and embed a pragmatic PM and change methodology across the business
- Own and govern the change portfolio — including a multi-million-pound budget — giving leadership clear visibility of what’s being delivered, at what cost, and to what timeline
- Assess third-party delivery partners and make the call on build vs. buy vs. partner
- Drive adoption and communications, moving the business from reactive, project-by-project delivery to a coherent, owned portfolio of change
- Get change done — this is a hands-on delivery role, not a strategy or advisory one
What I’m looking for
- 10–15 years in change / transformation / programme management, with 3–5 years leading a change function
- A track record of standing up change methodology from the ground up (not inheriting a mature one)
- Sharp at assessing delivery partners and consultants — you know what good looks like and won’t be oversold
- Budget ownership (£5m+)
- Background in infrastructure, utilities, energy, financial services or similarly regulated, asset-intensive sectors
- Strong on methodology (PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe or equivalent), an excellent communicator, and comfortable up to Board level
- Hands-on, high-energy, low-ego
