Finatal are partnering with an investor-backed manufacturing business based in Gloucestershire that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The business is entering a key phase of growth and operational change and requires an experienced finance leader to provide stability, strengthen financial controls and support the senior leadership team through a busy period.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the timely delivery of month-end reporting, maintaining a robust financial control environment and providing clear financial insight to support operational and commercial decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be expected to quickly understand the business, challenge existing processes and drive improvements across the finance function.
Key responsibilities will include overseeing the month-end close, preparing accurate monthly management accounts, managing cash flow and working capital, leading the year-end audit process, ensuring balance sheet integrity and maintaining strong financial controls. You will also partner closely with operations, supply chain and senior management, providing meaningful analysis around manufacturing performance, inventory, margins and operational costs while identifying opportunities to improve reporting and finance processes.
The successful candidate will have previously held a Finance Controller position within an investor-backed manufacturing, engineering or industrial business. You will be technically strong, commercially aware and confident operating within a fast-paced environment where you can influence stakeholders across the organisation. Experience of leading finance teams, improving reporting processes and supporting a PE-backed business through periods of growth or transformation will be highly advantageous.
