Finatal is partnered with a PE-backed healthcare business, seeking a Head of Commercial Finance to play a critical role in driving the business’ growth. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all budgeting and forecasting processes, serving as a key business partner to various departments, and providing strategic oversight of commercial finance activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving business growth in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including the development of detailed financial plans and forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying key variances and trends.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and private equity stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with department heads and business unit leaders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their financial needs and objectives.
  • Provide financial modelling and analysis to support business initiatives, investments, and growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the commercial finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
  • Evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives to optimise revenue, manage costs, and improve profitability.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive team, contributing to the overall financial strategy and long-term planning.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.


  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 years in-industry experience in Commercial Finance, with a strong background in healthcare or a related industry.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and business partnering.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, BI tools).
