We are supporting a private equity-backed telecommunications and managed services business with the appointment of an interim Finance Manager to lead the finance workstream of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation.

Operating in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment, the business has grown significantly through acquisition and is now investing in a new ERP platform to standardise processes, enhance reporting, and improve scalability across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance workstream for the Business Central implementation, acting as the key interface between finance and the implementation partner
  • Define and document finance requirements, including chart of accounts, dimensions, and reporting structures
  • Oversee system configuration across core finance modules (GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, revenue recognition)
  • Ensure alignment of the system with group reporting requirements and multi-entity structure
  • Drive data migration activities, including validation of opening balances and transactional data
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring outputs are accurate and fit for purpose
  • Review and improve existing finance processes alongside the implementation to enhance efficiency and control
  • Support integration design with other business systems (e.g. billing platforms, CRM, payroll)
  • Embed strong financial controls and governance within the new system
  • Provide regular updates to the CFO and leadership team on progress, risks, and key decisions

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
  • Proven experience leading or supporting a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation
  • Strong understanding of finance processes within a multi-entity, acquisitive environment
  • Experience within telecommunications, managed services, or private equity-backed businesses is highly desirable
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to operate both strategically and at a detailed level
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and non-finance teams
  • Experience working with external implementation partners
  • Available immediately or at short notice
