Finatal is currently partnered with a leading Private Equity fund seeking an Interim Financial Controller for their portfolio business in the UK. The company operates with a strong industrial focus, boasting a c. ~£40M EBITDA, supported by a compelling equity story with low-cost, high-value operations.
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in managing the day-to-day financial operations, supporting the business through its exit process, and contributing to its strategic financial transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
● Financial Reporting & Optimisation: Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Streamline financial operations for efficiency and accuracy.
● Statutory Accounts & Audits: Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and manage audit processes, working closely with external auditors and internal teams.
● Financial Control & Systems: Improve and maintain financial controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Oversee the integration of financial systems, ensuring alignment across departments.
● Exit Preparation Support: Assist with exit-related financial processes, working with a Big Four firm to set up the data room, prepare financial presentations, and support transaction requirements.
● Team Management & Development: Manage the finance team, optimise workflows, and mentor junior members for development and efficiency.
Key Requirements:
● Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication in English.
● Sector Experience: Proven experience in various sectors such as chemical, manufacturing, industrial, consumer goods, retail, or similar, ideally within Private Equity-backed businesses.
● Technical Expertise: Strong experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation, financial systems integrations, and maintaining financial controls. Familiarity with financial modelling and transaction services is a plus.
● Qualification: ACA qualification required.
● Location: Flexibility to work off-site, but UK-based (London preferred) is ideal.
