We’re partnering with a mid-market private equity-backed professional services business seeking an experienced Interim Integration Director following significant growth through M&A.

Working closely with the executive leadership team and private equity sponsor, you will lead the integration of acquired businesses, driving operational efficiencies, delivering cost synergies and creating a more scalable, integrated platform.

With a future exit on the horizon, this is a highly commercial and hands-on role focused on ensuring the business is fully integrated, operating efficiently and positioned to support a compelling equity story.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of businesses acquired through the group’s M&A strategy.
  • Develop and execute a clear integration roadmap across the organisation.
  • Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and cost synergies across the enlarged group.
  • Standardise processes, systems and ways of working across acquired businesses.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the operating model and create a more scalable platform.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, technology, HR and commercial leadership to drive integration priorities.
  • Establish clear KPIs and reporting to track integration progress, synergy delivery and operational improvements.
  • Identify integration risks, dependencies and performance gaps and drive timely resolution.
  • Partner closely with the executive leadership team and private equity sponsor on value creation priorities.
  • Drive sustainable improvements that strengthen business performance and support the equity story ahead of a future exit.
  • Provide clear reporting on integration progress, benefits realisation and key priorities to senior stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record leading complex post-M&A integration programmes.
  • Strong experience delivering measurable operational efficiencies and cost synergies following acquisitions.
  • Experience operating within a private equity-backed, acquisition-led environment highly desirable.
  • Experience within professional services or similarly people-led businesses advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of operating model integration, process improvement and organisational transformation.
  • Experience integrating multiple acquired businesses into a scalable group structure.
  • Commercially minded with a strong understanding of value creation and the requirements of a business preparing for exit.
  • Experienced working directly with CEOs, CFOs, executive teams and private equity investors.
  • Able to operate hands-on while maintaining oversight of a complex, business-wide integration programme.
  • Comfortable driving change at pace and holding senior stakeholders accountable for delivery.
