6-month contract | Fully remote | PE-backed platform, USA
Hourly Rates: $100-175
We’re partnering with a private equity backed group that has acquired 13 businesses in three years, with three or four more planned before the sponsor looks to exit. The Strategy & Operations team sits in New York and acts as the connective tissue across the group, working across HR, IT, Finance and the CEO’s office.
Deliverables:
- Corporate strategy foundations. There’s currently no corporate strategy function, no business plan and a limited budgeting process. A new CEO has asked for this to be built from the ground up: an annual planning process with global strategy, enterprise planning and workforce planning aligned, a tracking mechanism and governance calendar so plans are monitored rather than filed, and a plan to engage every business ahead of next year’s cycle.
- US operating processes. Reviewing how core processes work today and how they interface with the shared services center being stood up in India, supporting entity setup end to end, and driving process improvement across the US business as priorities emerge.
What we’re looking for
- Someone who has built this before, not supported someone else building it. You’ll need to have owned a planning cycle end to end, designed operating processes and then implemented them personally, in a business that has grown faster than its infrastructure.
- A consulting background is welcome but not consulting alone. The group already has an internal consulting capability, and the gap is people who reach the “how do we actually implement this” question and stall.
- PE-backed experience. You’ll also need to be comfortable with ambiguity, and credible with people across multiple entities who haven’t always welcomed head office involvement. Low ego matters as much as capability here.
