Role Overview

Finatal is working with a leading mid-market private equity fund, to recruit an Investment Director. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-established firm known for its hands-on approach to value creation. The role offers the chance to lead investments, manage portfolio companies, and play a key role in strategic decision-making within a dynamic and entrepreneurial team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead deal origination efforts, identifying and assessing potential investment opportunities.
  • Conduct due diligence, financial modelling, and risk analysis on target companies.
  • Drive investment execution, including structuring and negotiation of transactions.
  • Work closely with portfolio companies to support growth, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain and develop key relationships with advisors, management teams, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support fundraising activities and investor relations as needed.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years’ experience in private equity, or a relevant financial discipline.
  • Previously experienced as a PortCo Non-Executive Director/Board Observer
  • Proven track record of originating, executing, and managing investments in the mid-market space.
  • Deep understanding of financial modelling, deal structuring, and commercial due diligence.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
