We are partnering with a highly profitable, PE-backed European software business undergoing a significant Finance transformation ahead of its next phase of growth and eventual exit. The business is strengthening its Finance organisation, systems and processes, creating an opportunity for a high-calibre transformation leader to work directly alongside the CFO.
The Role
- Own and drive the roadmap across Finance transformation, reporting, consolidation, data, controls and exit-readiness initiatives.
- Lead complex cross-functional projects, resolving dependencies, challenging timelines and ensuring initiatives move from discussion into execution.
- Support ongoing M&A and PMI activity, coordinating integration workstreams, external advisers, synergies and delivery into BAU.
- Review and challenge investment proposals, assessing commercial assumptions, ROI, cash requirements, risks and strategic fit before preparing recommendations for senior leadership.
- Act as a trusted execution partner to the CFO, taking ownership of priority initiatives, management follow-up and decision preparation.
- Support the development of board and investor-ready materials, alongside wider strategic and Finance projects.
The Profile
We are looking for someone combining strong financial judgement with hands-on transformation execution.
Ideally, you will bring:
- A strong foundation in Finance transformation, FP&A, transaction services, investment analysis, CFO Office or strategic projects.
- Experience operating within a private equity-backed environment, ideally software, SaaS or technology-enabled services.
- Demonstrable exposure to M&A, due diligence, PMI and/or exit preparation.
- The ability to personally drive projects rather than simply track and report progress.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling capability, with confidence challenging investment cases and senior stakeholders.
- A consulting background can be highly relevant, particularly where followed by hands-on experience within a PE-backed business.
- The gravitas to work directly with CFO/C-suite stakeholders while remaining comfortable getting into the detail and operating with imperfect systems and data.
