Corporate Controller | Remote (US) | PE-Backed, Acquisition-Driven Platform
We’re hiring a Corporate Controller for a confidential, private equity-backed company that is growing through acquisitions. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll lead accounting and financial operations, strengthen reporting and controls, and build a repeatable playbook for integrating acquired businesses.
What you’ll do
Acquisition integration
- Lead the accounting integration of acquired businesses, aligning policies, controls, reporting, and close procedures
- Build a repeatable integration playbook with clear responsibilities, milestones, and reporting requirements
- Migrate acquired entities onto our existing ERP platform and standardize financial processes
- Support financial diligence and resolve accounting issues that arise from deals
Cash management and efficiency
- Improve cash forecasting, working capital visibility, and inventory and capex reporting
- Evaluate automation and AI tools to scale finance operations while keeping appropriate oversight and controls
Accounting and financial reporting
- Own the general ledger, reconciliations, consolidated reporting, and the financial close
- Accelerate the close without sacrificing accuracy
- Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation across legal entities
- Coordinate external audit and tax providers to meet deadlines
- Partner with corporate finance on management reporting and forecasting
Team leadership and partnership
- Lead and develop a distributed team of about 10 accounting and finance professionals
- Combine hands-on execution with coaching and accountability
- Optimize the balance of internal and outsourced resources
- Partner with executive and operating leaders to drive improvements
- Manage remotely, with regular travel to the team’s hub location
What we’re looking for
- CPA
- Accounting leadership experience in a PE-backed business
- Proven acquisition integration experience within a growing platform
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, controls, close, and audit management
- Track record of developing teams and managing remotely
- Proactive, organized, and commercially curious, with strong communication skills and a record of driving initiatives to completion
- Experience with automation, AI tools, or outsourced accounting resources is a plus
- Ability to learn accounting systems quickly
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities, or asset-heavy industries is helpful, but we consider candidates from other industries
