The challenge
Automated Financial Systems, an enterprise software provider to financial institutions, had received its first institutional investment. The founder-led business needed a CFO to develop the finance infrastructure required under private equity ownership and prepare the company to scale.
The role had been open for more than four months before Finatal was engaged. The client wanted to move quickly while considering a range of leadership backgrounds.
The search
Finatal presented different routes to the appointment. The final three candidates included a VP of Finance with experience at greater scale, a Divisional CFO and an established CFO with directly relevant leadership experience.
This gave the client a practical comparison of candidates with different levels and types of experience, supporting its decision on the finance leadership required for the business’s next phase.
The result
The appointed CFO brought 12 years of experience in enterprise software businesses backed by specialist software investors.
The hire added relevant sector and investor-backed experience to the leadership team, with a mandate to build the finance infrastructure needed to support growth.
