The challenge
Sila Services, a residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical services business, had completed 47 acquisitions in four years. Continued expansion created a need for a senior FP&A leader who could develop financial processes across a decentralized, multi-site platform.
The brief required someone who could build the function, strengthen budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and provide commercial insight to the wider business. The challenge was finding a leader with both the experience to operate at scale and the willingness to remain hands-on.
The search
Finatal targeted senior FP&A leaders and candidates with the potential to progress into a CFO role, focusing on complex, multi-site services businesses and private equity-backed environments.
We mapped the Pennsylvania market and conducted a nationwide search, including candidates willing to relocate. We also advised Sila to consider adjacent sectors with comparable operating complexity, broadening the field beyond HVAC and home services.
Assessment focused on evidence of building and scaling finance functions, combined with technical capability, commercial judgment, executive presence and practical involvement in delivery.
The result
The appointed VP and Head of FP&A joined in September 2026, giving Sila a dedicated leader for the development of its FP&A function.
The role’s priorities are to strengthen planning, forecasting and reporting and improve commercial insight across the platform. The appointment establishes leadership for that work as Sila continues to expand.
